Rose of Sharon

Rose of Sharon is a rapidly growing, deciduous shrub in the hibiscus family. These blooming shrubs grow between 8 and 12 feet tall and 6 and 10 feet wide. Hardy in zones 5 to 9, they feature blooms from midsummer to fall and come in a multitude of colors, including white, pink, lavender, blue, and bicolor. These blooms can be single or double and feature yellow protruding stamens in the center. For optimal flower production, plant in full sun, although they can tolerate partial shade.

Rose of Sharon makes the perfect addition to any pollinator garden, as it attracts bees, butterflies, hummingbirds, and other pollinators due to its trumpet-shaped flowers, which are full of pollen and nectar.
